One of a septet Texas Highland Lakes, Lake LBJ was formed per construction of Wirtz Dam by the Lower Colorado River Authority. Originally known as Flow of any stream Granite Shoals, it was renamed inside 1965 for President Lyndon Baines Johnson.
Flow of any stream LBJ is utilized as a venue for aquatic recreation & as well will bring cooling water supply for the Thomas J. Ferguson power plant in Granite Shoals, Texas.
